nutrients, in particular nitrogen compounds, in the course of a multi-stage process after the water was cleaned mechanically in a preceding step.The brushes installed in the well-proven Uni-Fil serial fi lters of the first fi lter chamber take care of this mechanical cleaning process. The subsequent chambers house fi lter media that provide tried-and-tested surfaces for nitrogen-decomposing
strains of bacteria.
As it systematically fl ows to all fi lter media from the bottom following the so-called up-flow principle, the wa-
ter covers a longer distance inside the filter and is,therefore, cleaned in a particularly thorough manner.
All Uni-Fil serial fi lters are made of durable, buckling-resistant polyester plastic.
