Koi pond filters: Complete and efficient
Koi ponds show a particularly high level of contamination due to the activity of the fi sh. Meanwhile, the systems are operated at a higher flow rate to account for the high
metabolic rate of the animals. Even vortex chambers will not be able to fi lter out the suspended matterappropriately unless they are of signifi cant size.
The application of multi-chamber filtering technology for koi ponds has, therefore, shifted to Centro-Fil CenterVortex fi lters. Contrary to serial filters, these types of filters include a circular arrangement of the filter chambers, which leaves more space to accommodate vortex chambers with large diameters, and also come with a dome shaft that functions as a central drain.
This makes it possible to calm large quantities of water, forcing the suspended matter it carries along to simply sink to the bottom of the chamber. An even higher level of
tranquillity can be reached by em-ploying the optional vortex comb.
Four additional fi lter chambers will then fi lter the pond water in the same way as a conventional serial filter.
